Dale Umetsu has spent more than 30 years in academic medicine, was Chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology and a tenured Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford, and later the Prince Turki al Saud Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. In 2013 he left academic medicine to become Principal Medical Director and Global Development Lead at Genentech, and later Vice President for Clinical Development at Dermira, Inc, where he focused on securing FDA approvals for new therapies for food allergy and other atopic diseases. He is currently a consultant for several companies, including Pareto Bio (member of the Scientific Advisory Board and interim Chief Medical Officer), IgGenix (member of the Scientific Advisory Board and acting Chief Medical Officer), and AllAdapt Immunotherapeutics (member of the Scientific Advisory Board). He also serves as Clinical Professor of Medicine at Stanford and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco.
